Four birds near Richardson's Canada Goose, B. canadensis hutchinsii, Little Seneca Res. MD, 23 JAN--1 FEB 2003. Features include tiny size, short neck, short bill , steep square forehead, and grayish bases to mantle feathers and coverts. This gives the bird a frosty look. At least one of the four had the white cheek patch completely divided by a black throat Video grabs at about 900x by Dave Czaplak. These birds were found here several days previously by Clive Harris. |
