Female Cordulegaster erronea, Tiger Spiketail, 27 July 2002, Furnace Branch, Sugarloaf Mtn., MD. This species requires tiny spring-fed streams with little silt. Note the spike-like ovipositor. This same stream is used by Cordulegaster maculata-Twin-spotted Spiketail in May, and Somatochlora linearis-Mocha Emerald in July.
